Last week my husband requested that I make a patriotic wreath for the summer season. I was thrilled that he was giving me a DIY project that I “had” to do. However, when I was finding my faux flowers, every red-white-and-blue combination turned out to be tacky. I just couldn’t settle for mediocre red flowers. So, here’s how I made my semi-patriotic summertime wreath in just a few simple steps.

What you need: grapevine wreath, faux flowers, and wire cutters.

Step 1: Start by cutting all of your flowers at the base of the bushel. Once they are all individual pieces, it is a quick process to create your wreath.

Step 2: To apply your flower to the wreath, simply push your stem through the middle of the wreath.

Step 3: Next, weave the flower stem through the wreath vines. Be sure all flowers are secure before moving onto the next one. Once you are happy with your flower placement, you are ready to hang!
