We’ve finally gotten into a great routine over here with baby Eleanor and we’ve found what products we love and which ones we don’t. I thought I’d share a quick post on our top 10 baby products we turn to time and time again. What products are you loving? I’d love to hear, share in the comments below! We are always looking for new items to try out.
When we were prepping for baby, we were overwhelmed with the rockers, bouncers and overall baby stuff – and how u-g-l-y everything is. We wanted a rocker that would keep the baby happy while not turning our living room into an eyesore. This 4moms Rockaroo has been a lifesaver. It took Eleanor a few weeks to warm up to it, but now she’ll give us a few breaks throughout the day sitting in her rocker happy or sleeping. We love that it looks modern and not too baby-y. Plus, the powered rocking makes it less work for us.
We have about 100 burp cloths that we go through on a daily basis. I carry one with me throughout the house, to bed, and when we leave the house. At home I use Gerber cloth diapers as burp cloths – they are cheap. But when I’m out of the house, I use these burp cloths by Burt’s Bees. They are super absorbent and much more attractive than the others.
Like the rocker, we were overwhelmed at first by the many stroller options. Again, I knew I wanted something modern, simple, and gender-neutral. I love all the chic black strollers, but the majority of them were out of our budget (by a lot). I found this travel system by Chicco in store and loved the design (the toddler seat comes out entirely to make it lighter for carseat use and folds up easily) – but I hated the bright green color. I took to the Web to find a different color, when I stumbled upon this Genesis model. I stalked it online for weeks waiting for it to come back in stock and finally was able to scoop it up. I LOVE it.
We received this giraffe as a gift a few weeks ago and were excited to see how Eleanor liked it. She prefers to sleep with noise around her and loves tv in the background or music. So it came as no surprise when she loved this. It plays soft lullabies for 15 minutes and has been a total lifesaver for naps and bedtime.
We’ve had several different brands of footie pajamas and we always reach for our favorites by Burt’s Bees. They are organic cotton, inexpensive, soft, and fit wonderfully. These are by far our favorites and we will continue to buy them in different sizes as Eleanor grows. We love the simple onesies too.
Eleanor has quickly become a fan of bath time. She gets excited when she knows it is time and love to splash in the water. We got this bath tub in the hopes that she wouldn’t outgrow it too quickly, it was inexpensive, and not ugly like many others. It fits perfectly in our guest bath and we can fill it with bubble bath water with no worries of her slipping. Plus, it is easy to keep clean due to the simple design.
I’ve recently made the switch to natural beauty and household products, so of course I wanted to use natural baby products as well. We tried a few different brands and these Babyganics wipes are our favorites. In fact, we buy them in bulk boxes of 800. The Honest Company wipes are also great, but we go with Babyganics for the price difference.
This diaper rash cream is AMAZING. Eleanor has sensitive skin just like her momma and this has worked wonders. We use a little bit every day to prevent rashes and if she does get a little redness, this cream heals it quickly. Ok, a little bit of a personal story and maybe TMI – During my postpartum healing, I got a “diaper” rash from the pads (why does no one tell you about this!?). It was B-A-D. I used this diaper cream and it healed it quickly and instantly took away the itch and pain. I will never use anything else.
We are obviously huge fans of the Honest Company (I am a bundle subscriber for household products – try a free trial here) and these diapers do not disappoint. Like the wipes, we tried many different brands. Huggies caused rashes, while Pampers and Babyganics caused blowouts. The Honest fit the best, they are greener (bonus) and they are just plain cute. We’ll be sticking with these as long as we can.
Ok, so this may not be a baby product, but it might as well be. I have gotten every single stain out of everything with this magical stuff. Every. Single. Stain. Poop? No problem. Barf? Yep. Blood? You got it. Trust me, this stuff works. My tip: rinse stain first, spray with remover and scrub with a toothbrush, spray again, and soak or wash right away (depending on stain).
