A few months ago I decided to switch over my beauty and cleaning regimen to include more natural products. That means products without added (harmful) chemicals, parabens, etc. It takes some time to fully switch over, as there are so many products out there to try. I’ve found that Target has the best selection of in-store options, but of course there are more that can be found online. My top 3 favorite brands are Mrs. Meyers, Method, and The Honest Company. I’ve rounded up all my favorite products (thus far) to share my thoughts on them. Do you have experience with any natural cleaning products? Please share in the comments below, I’d love to hear your recommendations!
Mrs. Meyers Basil Laundry Detergent
I was hesitant to switch to a natural laundry detergent, as most are. Would it clean all those smells and grease out of the clothing? Mrs. Meyers was one of the first ones I tried, and I’ve been in love with how great all our clothes smell (even the husband’s dirty work clothes). The Basil is by far the best scent in their collection – oh and stains? I’ve had no problem getting stains out so far.
Mrs. Meyers Basil Dryer Sheets
Since I’ve been so happy with the laundry detergent, I chose to get the matching dryer sheets in the same intoxicating Basil scent. Seriously, everything smells amazing when I pull the clothes out of the dryer.
Method Sweet Water Gel Hand Wash
I like my hand wash to be smooth and bubbly. The Method gel hand wash is wonderfully refreshing and I’m obsessed with the Sweet Water scent. I definitely feel clean and my hand smell great after washing.
Honest Multi-Surface Cleaner
A natural multi-surface cleaner can be another tough one to find. The Honest Company cleaner is the first one I’ve tried (mainly due to the large bottle for a better price) and it smells great! I use it all around the kitchen, tables, and floors – it cleans great and leaves no residue.
Honest White Grapefruit Dish Soap
I scored this dish soap on clearance at Target and thought it was the perfect time to try it. When I wash my dishes, I like to have lots of bubbles. This dish soap takes a few minutes before it produces suds, but so far it has done the job. I’ve had no problem with cleaning the grease and grime off pots and dishes. The bottle isn’t huge, so I may look around at some other brands to compare.
Mrs. Meyers Geranium Room Freshener
You know those Febreze air fresheners that everyone has, the ones that smell like linen and come in a huge bottle? Well we had those, and to be honest, the smell was too strong (and fake) and the bottle was inconveniently large. This Geranium room freshener is a smaller bottle (with pretty packaging) and fits great in our guest bathroom. And the smell? It’s amazing. I’d be lying if I told you I haven’t sprayed our whole house.
Method Bathroom Cleaner
Having a bathroom cleaner that works is a must. This eucalyptus mint scented cleaner smells wonderful and my bathroom literally shines when I’m done cleaning. I use it on our tub/shower, sink and even floors.
Method Antibacterial Toilet Bowl Cleaner
I’ve never used a real toilet bowl cleaner before, I’ve always used Pinesol and it got the job done. But now that I see the convenience of having a designated toilet bowl cleaner, it has made things so much easier. The reviews online are mediocre (people do not like the spearmint scent) – though I think it is great and pairs well with the eucalyptus mint cleaner.
The Laundress Delicate Wash
I don’t use this product often, however, it is great to have. Any clothing that says “dry clean only” on the tag or “100% silk” – this Delicate Wash is a life-saver. Just a little capful and a bucket of water can clean any of your delicates. I consider this wash a must-have.
The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo
This Wool & Cashmere Shampoo is another must-have during the winter months. I use this for almost all my sweaters and scarves – really anything that is made up of wool or cashmere. It smells great and is extremely gentle. My sweaters definitely have a longer life-span thanks to this shampoo.
There you have it! Those are all my favorite natural cleaning products thus far. I’m still looking for a great dishwasher detergent, laundry oxi boost, wood polish, and glass cleaner. What recommendations do you have?
