I’ve been putting this post off for several weeks now. And with temperatures reaching in the high 70s lately, it was time for me to switch out my wardrobe for something more suitable for the warm weather.
I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant, which means dressing myself has gotten increasingly difficult. Many of my old spring favorites no longer fit and I’ve struggled with finding maternity clothing that isn’t too “mom-like” or just plain ugly. And honestly, most maternity stuff is still to big for me. It has been hard in the wardrobe department, to say the least.
I was able to finally pull together 32 pieces that I can mix and match for the next 3 months (March-May). However, since I’ll also be in my third trimester soon (2 weeks away!), I know that these 32 pieces may not all fit for the remainder of my pregnancy. I may have to adjust and buy a few new items along the way. But overall, this should be pretty accurate to what I’ll be living in.
You’ll notice it’s nothing too fancy. A lot of tees. Since I’m still carrying pretty small, I’ve found that fitted tees are more flattering and comfortable to wear.
Winter Capsule Wardrobe – Conclusion
Having a capsule wardrobe has still been incredibly helpful. It simplifies things and allows me to quickly grab anything in my closet and I know it’ll work. The weather the last 3 months has been a bit crazy. So I was glad I had a few coats and sweaters for the freezing temps, in addition to some lighter blouses for those warm days. I was able to fit into most of my wardrobe for the majority of the 3 months. Though, this did get a bit difficult after I “popped” in the beginning of February.
I’ve pulled together 32 pieces including tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, bags, and shoes. I’ll be sticking to only these 32 items (as my bump allows) throughout the next 3 months (March through May). Many of these items I pulled from storage or rolled over from the past season, and a few are new purchases.
